Visual Studio: Watch That Time Game (BTEC National Diploma in ICT)
I made this back in my BTEC National Diploma at college as part of Unit 32, I was asked to make a computer game, any game I could think of, after thinking very hard and trying out some ideas I decided to make a game which tests the users reaction time and mouse pointer movement skills by showing several buttons with numbers within them...
Fig1. Level 1 - Stage 1
When games started
After several seconds
...These buttons (shown in Fig1) count down every second until they reach 0, when they hit 3 and below the button color changes to red, the user resets the timers in the button back to 7 by clicking on them, if a button gets to 0 the game is over!
There are 5 levels and each level has 5 stages, and as you progress the game gets more difficult with addition of more buttons and/or moving buttons.

Visual Studio: Store 10 students details (BTEC National Diploma in ICT)
I made this back in my BTEC National Diploma at college, the goal was to collect and store information about 10 different students, we had an hour to develop a solution which I managed and this was my resulting solution.
I made the storing of data very simple, I could have gone for creating a XML or INI file or use a database, but because the program did not have to store any more than 10 students I went for a simpler option, data from each text box was written to new lines in a file, then when reading them back into the program I simply read each line back into the fields in the same order.
This not only meant the code for writing the data to a file was simple but also meant that the saving and loading operation was lightning fast.

Visual Studio: Calculator (BTEC National Diploma in ICT)
I made this back in my BTEC National Diploma at college, the goal was to create a program which could carry out devision, subtraction, addition and multiplication, this was the resulting solution.
There is a Tab for each operation, and the same layout exists in all tabs, the user inputs two numbers to calculate and then presses the "Calculate" button. The program is very basic and was created as a demonstration.
